Virgin - Great page to find something to do. Covers the whole country and is packed with ideas of places to visit and attractions to see. Gives links to all the venues it suggests.

Londontown.com - Events in London. Massive resource of info to help you make your stay in the capital a pleasurable one. Museums, walks, day trips are all detailed.

Whatsonwhen - Listings for the UK and beyond. Search by country, city, date to find what you want from wide range of topics. Details are fine, except no contact address or telephone number are given.

Event Selector - Search for event in your area. Slightly annoying, difficult to get listings for anything other than today. Otherwise, it is very well laid out and easy to find the right section to search.

KidsNET - Information about family days out. Fairly London-dominated resource to find things to do. Cinema listings are countrywide, but leisure and sports are just for the capital.

Ticket Master - Tickets for everything. Simple to use, but highly effective in finding seats at short notice. Slighlty limited, but this means the most popular events have got tickets at this site.

NME Tickets - Concert tickets. Search by city, date or artist to find the perfect concert for you. Includes latest music news from the NME site. Very easy to use, but tickets might be sold out if you leave it too late.

Lastminute.com - Available for tonight. Selected numbers of tickets available for performances on the evening that you check the site. Also book ahead. Good layout and info.

BBC Online - Audience tickets for TV shows. Details of how to apply, and info on the shows being recorded in the near future. Tells you exactly the requirements of the audience members.

First Call Tickets - Seats for concerts etc. Book tickets online for a whole host of events, in London and all around the country. Easy to buy, easy to navigate.

Aloud - Concert tickets. Mainly for buying tickets to music events, tells you if the event is sold out or going fast, to give you an indication of how quickly you have to buy.

Tickets Direct - Theatre tickets. Good system for finding availability, but the major shows are often sold out on this site where they are available elsewhere.

Tickets Online - Music event tickets. Find events, but they are often sold out for the immediate future. Maybe use this to find details, then another site to book a ticket.

London Theatre Bookings - Theatre tickets in London. Slow loading and not very clear how to get tickets or even how to find details. Clean looking site, but no real info available except when the events are happening.

Legoland Windsor - Plastic blocks galore! Great site that allows you to tour the park and see details of all the areas, with good info and pictures. Full park amenities are outlined, and the page entices you to visit.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach - "Bright, colourful site." All the info about the park, which is Britain's largest free tourist attraction. Ride prices, location and prebookable ride tickets available.

Alton Towers - Tour the rides and the park. Look at pictures of the biggest rides to see if you fancy them before you visit the park. Check the hotel details at the park, including 360 degree panoramic views of the rooms.

National Trust - Sites of beauty around the country. Pages devoted to outlining the work of the Trust, and places of interest that are worth visiting. Search by area to find the nice places to see. Good detail of the facilities and events at each place.

Woodland Trust - Days out in the woodlands. Details of the work of the charity, and how to get involved by visiting the featured sites. Map to help you find woods of interest.

Jongleurs - Useful for booking your tickets. Find info on the comedians performing at the 8 venues around the country. Read a short biog of each and see where they are on next. Do not bother reading the jokes page.

NEC Birmingham - Events at the NEC. Find what is on at the numerous venues that this group owns. Diary dates for the next year and beyond. More for corporate users than the public.

Bristol Zoo Gardens - Includes online aquarium. Describes the conservation work done by this zoo site. Contains details of what to see on a visit, and how to adopt an animal.
